Intaglio
printmaking is my favorite process for making original fine art prints.
I carve lines and shapes into
either
copper or zinc or Plexiglas plates, using acid or tools. Then I wipe ink
into these recessed areas, place a piece of paper over the plate, and
run it through the press. The resulting print changes many times
as I rework
the plate over a period of months. Finally, I run an edition, usually
30, of the completed image.
